AUDIENCE FEEDBACK: First Rough Cut

For our .... rough cut we got two media students in the year above evaluate and give us feedback on our film opening. They commented on the use of camera work, whether the mise-en-scene and props within the frame were appropriate, editing, shot transitions, sound with images and titles.

Conal (one of the students), said the bedroom scene needs 'smoothing out'. He also commented on the framing saying that he liked the shot and framing of Harry in the shop scene from outside the door and also said to put the Bad boy scene in between Holly and Harry's scene to distinguish the love triangle. Conal said he liked the idea of the record transition between the shop and classroom scene but said that the freeze frame needs to be more apparent so that the audience doesn't get confused and loose the idea of continuity. The titles he said were also good apart from the order as it should be compony, actors and compony's again and to mix them up a bit.

Amber said that the establishing shot needs to be steadier and she didn't like one of the establishing shots. She also commented on the lack of close ups and also the classroom scene needs to be more thought out that includes a 3 shot. The love triangle concept also needs to be highlighted more in the editing and again, improvements on the freeze frames. I really liked the idea that she had of fading the music between each scene to link them together as i think it would create the link we are missing.
