RECORDING SOUNDTRACK

On Thursday we went to see Conor in Leeds to record some of the music that

 we want in our film opening. Now with all three of us there we were able to tell Conor 
and Sam exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it done.
This did take longer than expected so we only managed to get one song recorded
 but after Christmas we will schedule another date to record the other parts of the soundtrack.

For the shop scene we have decided to do a music video style entry for
 one of our main protagonists. We are using the song 'Try a Little
 Tenderness' by Otis Redding. Due to the limited time we have to 
screen our film opening, we will not be able to use all of the song 
as it is over 3 minutes long. I have selected and cut some lyrics out to make it a lot shorter.

SOUNDTRACK 5: Recording session in Leeds

Recording the sound track

• So, on Thursday we went to see Conor in Leeds to record some of the music that we want in our film opening. Now with all three of us there we were able to tell Conor and Sam exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it done. 
• We decided to cut the lyrics as the way it was performed wasn't how we imagined it and we didn't feel as if it would fit with the bedroom scene as the lyrics were too up beat. However the slow acoustic guitar worked very well so we decided just to use this.
• This did take longer than expected so we only managed to get one song recorded but after Christmas we will schedule another date to record the other parts of the soundtrack.

MUSIC: creating sound track

Creating our Sound track 

I went to Conor's to start creating ideas for the soundtrack, I explained to him the basic ideas of what we wanted for the track personally and then he tried it out to see if they were actually possible. 

After going through the song, Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding we looked at
other versions of the song to try out different styles, this was mainly to see if there was an easier version we could use or if there was a version that would fit better.

We looked at the Glee version sung by Amber Riley, Aretha Franklin's version andalso an acoustic version by Erik Hassle. Out of these four clips we looked at we decided that we could do something similar to Erik Hassle's version for the bedroom scene and then speed it up so its similar to the Glee version for the scene with the main male in as they both fit with the style we wanted, soft and slow and then upbeat.
